Forest Planning

Napa RCD provides forest planning services to rural land managers. We work closely with land managers to understand their needs, and develop plans suited to these needs as well as the property, following guidelines from CalFire, NRCS, and the US Forest Service.

Forest plans take into account fire prevention and preparedness, the current condition of the forest, future goals for the property, and a broad landscape-scale perspective. Forest plans include a forest/vegetation inventory and unpaved road assessment, if applicable. All raw data and GIS data collected or created will be provided to the land manager for their records.

Once a plan is in place, we support land managers in securing funding to take on-the-ground action.
