Huichica Creek Preserve: Field Day
Help shape the future of the Huichica Creek Preserve! Bring the whole family outside for a fun and interactive day and experience the property first hand as you meet local conservation partners and discover the plants, wildlife, and changing environmental conditions that make the Preserve so special.
During the event, the project team will display design alternatives for the future of the property. Each alternative will illustrate a different approach to habitat restoration, public access, education, and visitor experience.
Attendees will be invited to:
• Review the alternatives
• Ask questions and speak directly with the project team
• Identify the ideas and features they value most
• Share concerns or suggest improvements
• Complete a comment card to help inform the preferred design
The alternatives are not final plans. Your feedback will help the project team understand community priorities and determine which ideas should be carried forward.
You’ll also have the chance to interact with multiple booths and activities where you can:
• Test your skills identifying plants found on the property using field guides and plant keys
• Discover the birds, wildlife, and other species that call Huichica Creek home
• Learn how sea-level rise may affect the property and surrounding landscape
• Meet local partner organizations and learn about their work
• Explore ideas for restoring and caring for Huichica Creek
Registration is preferred, but not required.
