Forest Planning

Napa RCD provides forest planning services to rural land managers. We work closely with land managers to understand their needs, and develop plans suited to these needs as well as the property, following guidelines from CalFire, NRCS, and the US Forest Service.

North Bay Forest Improvement Program

The North Bay Forest Improvement Program (NBFIP) is a regional cost-share (incentives) program that supports private landowner with forest management planning and implementing vegetation management activities that promote forest health and wildfire resilience.

Inner Coast Collaborative

Funded by a Regional Forest and Fire Capacity Program block grant, the Inner Coast Collaborative is a regional partnership focused on improving forest health and fire resilience that spans 5,500 square miles across Colusa, Lake, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, and Yolo Counties (i.e., the Inner Coast region).

Oaks

“Re-Oaking” is an approach to reintegrating oaks and other native vegetation within the developed California landscape to restore this ecologically diverse and distinctive ecosystem to our cities (SFEI.org)

Wildfire Recovery

Napa RCD provides locally-based, site-specific, and timely technical assistance to fire-impacted landowners and managers through site visits and connections to financial assistance, including USDA NRCS and Farm Services Agency programs.

Napa Prescribed Burn Association

The Napa Prescribed Burn Association (PBA) is a county-wide volunteer-based mutual aid group dedicated to responsibly using prescribed fire as a tool to reduce the risk of catastrophic fire and to restore forest health.
