Waterway Keepers Community Cleanup
Napa RCD is teaming up with researchers from San Jose State University and UC Davis to do a Community Cleanup and Rapid Trash Assessment along the Napa River. We will meet at the Skate Park inside of Kennedy Park (2393 Streblow Dr; click here for a google pin), talk through some safety rules, hand out supplies, and answer questions anyone has about the work being done by staff and students at UC Davis and San Jose State University. Then we will head out and pick up trash along the Vine Trail and in the tidal flood plain of the Napa River. If you’ve got them, bring your boots! Napa RCD will be supplying reusable gloves, buckets, and trash grabbers for everyone to use. Once we’ve collected our trash, we will take some time to sort things into the correct bins so everything makes it into the correct waste stream.
Wear: Please wear sturdy shoes (muck boots if you have them!), long pants, and layers appropriate for the weather. A hat and sunscreen are recommended.
Bring: Bring a filled water bottle and any snacks you need to get through the morning. Napa RCD will be providing reusable gloves, trash grabbers, buckets, and some light snacks.
