Green Friday Community Oak Planting Day
9-11:30am • Alston Park
Join Us for Green Friday—Let’s Opt Outside for the Oaks!
Looking for an awesome way to get outdoors, give back, and have a blast with your community? Come join us for Green Friday as we team up to protect our beautiful oak trees!
What’s Green Friday? It’s an alternative to Black Friday- an opportunity to make a difference in your local environment.
What’s Happening: We’ll be clearing planting areas, building protective cages, and planting acorns to help the oaks grow strong. There’s a job for everyone, so all ages and abilities are welcome—bring your friends, family, and neighbors for a fun day outside!
Why You’ll Love It:
- Work together with your community to help the environment
- Hands-on activities that are great for kids, teens, and adults
- A variety of tasks to keep things fun and exciting all morning long!
- Fresh air, nature, and the perfect opportunity to “opt outside”
Where: Uphill from either parking lot—just follow the directional signs and look for the green tent! The north parking lot will be closer, but will fill up faster. We will have signs from each entrance guiding you to the planting area.
What to Wear and Bring:
- Wear your comfy gardening gear—thick pants and sturdy shoes are a must!
- Don’t forget your filled water bottle to stay hydrated.
