In partnership with local agencies and stakeholders, the City of Napa is preparing a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) to help its community identify fire risks and actions to limit damages due to wildfire.

A Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) is a process for communities to address their wildfire risk, by promoting collaboration and local action through comprehensive planning and prioritization.

Through this process, the plan:

  • Helps the community reach a common understanding of current environmental conditions.
  • Identifies areas of high hazard in which conditions create the potential for extreme fire behavior.
  • Creates forums for the public to share and learn about fire preparedness.
  • Protects at-risk communities and essential infrastructure.
  • Contributes to effective strategies for the community to reduce fire risks

Your input will help us develop a plan that reflects the needs of our community. The development of the City of Napa CWPP will require collaboration of federal, state, and local agency representatives, special interest groups and other interested parties, such as those that live or work in Napa. Public Meetings & Events

July 2024 Public Meeting
Join us at this introductory meeting to learn what a CWPP is, why one is being developed for the City of Napa, and what the process will look like. You’ll also receive an intro to the City of Napa CWPP Hub Site, which will hold most resources related to the planning process. The meeting will serve as a space to ask questions and provide feedback on the process and its projected projects.

The introductory meeting will be held both in English and Spanish:

Fall 2024 Fire Fair
Join us at this family-friendly event, which will include hands-on opportunities to learn about the results of the hazard and risk assessment period of the CWPP, share your ideas on what projects need to happen to make our community more wildfire resilient, meet local partners that can help you get fire ready (prepping a go bag, fire friendly landscaping, defensible space, etc.), and participate in fun activities for the whole family. Winter 2024-25 Public Meeting
Join this meeting to learn about the priority projects that have been proposed for the City of Napa CWPP and provide input so we can sure make the plan is representative of what our community needs to be more wildfire resilient. More details coming soon!

Other Ways to Get Involved

Check out the City of Napa CWPP Hub Site: https://city-of-napa-cwpp-cityofnapa.hub.arcgis.com/

The Hub Site is the go-to spot for geospatial data and other useful information related to the CWPP. It will also serve as a space to provide input related to the planning process and proposed projects, where you can complete surveys throughout the plan as well. The Hub Site is currently under development. New information and resources will be added to the Hub Site as the CWPP is formed.
