man planting acorn

Alston Oak BioBlitz

Come on out and help us track the health and survival of the oaks planted by Napa RCD, community members, and local students at an earlier planting event!
Participants will learn how to identify the four types of oaks that are most commonly found in the Napa Valley, how to tell if a new tree is healthy, and how to let us know if certain planting areas need to be mulched. We will go over the basics of oak identification, and talk through the process of evaluating each tree.
If you are interested in joining, but don’t feel comfortable on uneven terrain, let us know! We have opportunities available for all levels of comfort and are happy to make sure you’re able to join in the effort of caring for our local trees!
