Fish Barrier Removal Projects

After identifying and assessing fish barriers in the Napa River watershed, RCD staff created a priority list of the “top 20 barriers” based on California Department of Fish and Wildlife Protocol. RCD is now systematically working to improve fish passage and increase the amount of habitat available in the watershed. Since 2007, RCD has partnered with private landowners and public agencies to remove priority barriers and improve access to over 90 miles of stream habitat in the Napa River watershed.
